I installed leo4all v3 on my ASUS R1E notebook, everything went well except I needed the cpus=1 switch. The only problem is that it hang when booting after those lines :

MAC Framework successfully initialized
using 10485 buffer headers and 4096 cluster IO buffer headers

It just wont get passed those two lines!

Thanks for your help.

Never mind It works??? I just shut it down when it was stuck in the last 4 mins and then it booted back up to OS X just flawlessly!!! Sweet…. Now I just gotta install the network drivers is there a way I can do this via terminal or do I need to reinstall & add drivers / check them all?

Hi, I'm stuck.

I have Leo4Allv3, and I try to install it on a desktop with AMD Athlon 64 x2 on an NForce 5 with SATA disk (seagate, if you need info). The installer starts up only when disks are in AHCI mode. I have three partitions - /dev/disk0s1 with ext3, /dev/disk0s3 with NTFS and /dev/disk0s5 with ext3 again. To install Leo, I choose to erase NTFS disk (/dev/disk0s3) in "disk utility" and try to erase in with apple filesystem (journalled or not - the same effect). Disk utility says, that it erased the disk, but actually - it is not. I still can boot Windows…

I tried to use newfs command from terminal. No effect.

Disk utility does not create Apple filesystem by AcelerAceler, 1211049401|%e %b %Y, %H:%M %Z|agohover

Thank you for this help

It did the trick - its up and running — now to see what works…

"One additional note - I have to boot each time with the -f parameter - is there a way to avoid that?"

I am STUCK AT AppleNForceATA found 0 units
I have disabled all video drivers, Nvidia and IntelGMA, and ATI, but still, I get stuck there.
I also got stuck at " fordeth: ethernet…., but I got rid of that by disabling the loading of the drivers.
Please, WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?
Why can't I be happy like others who use my same notebook and load this OSX and put the video on youtube. What am I doing wrong? I am known not to easily give up, but it's been months now, and honestly, I am tired of why it will just not work.
PLEASE I KNOW SOMEONE IS READING THIS. ANY, ANY…. IDEA IS WELCOMED. Please Eddie, HELP.

Hi, I have this fixed and runnning..

I had to install a kext file (AppleObboardPCATA.kext) I found on forum.insanelymac.com, this is version 2, I had to add my Device ID to it (0x59551002 for a ATI Raedon Express m200 128mb video)), added, rebooted, found my chipset and then I moved the external usb drive to the laptop internally, boot and woow!! I see the drive and internal DVD just fine..

Other issue I had was the video, only 1024x768, I added Callisto kext version 6, rebooted and now I have a lot of options for resolution… nice… the only think is that QE is not working but no big deal… It would be nice if these 2 kexts can be added for the next release (if any)..

So far it looks/feels/runs perfect… thanks o much for such a nice release… so far the only piece of software I found not running is Toast versions 8 and 9… it installs but does not run.

specs
HP Pavilion dv5224nr
Athlon Turion 2.2Ghz ML-40
2GB memory DDR333
60GB ATA Hard drive
ATI Raedon m200 128mb (dedicated)
3 USB2 working
1 Firewire port working
External monitor connection (VGA working)
Synaptics TouchPad v6.2 (working) but it does not scroll up/down -1finger touch
NIC Realtec (Working)

The machine installs fine, (selected old nvidia driver, nv vga kexts, nv/marvell lan driver, azalia audio).

During the boot process, I get to these lines and then the system just sits there:

AppleNForceATA: found 0 units.

No Boot on Nforce 6150 board. (leo4all v3) by CaptDistractionCaptDistraction, 1210919080|%e %b %Y, %H:%M %Z|agohover

This worked for me.

//These are instructions on how you might be able to fix the OSX86 "Still Waiting for Root Device" error.

These instructions may not work for you; however, I am publishing this method since the solution may save someone hours of frustration. This fix was confirmed working for someone who had successfully installed leo4all v3 and upon reboot received the above error. In this case the cause of the error is due to incompatible or incorrect kexts for your ATA controller.

Step One
Boot up using the LeoV3 DVD as if you are going to install Mac OS X again.

Step Two
Select Terminal from the Installer's Utility Menu.

Step Three
Now we are going to copy all the the ATA kexts from the install DVD to your hard drive. To do this enter a command like this:
cp -pr /Volumes/Leo4allv3/System/Library/Extensions/*ATA* /Volumes/MacHD/System/Library/Extensions/.

NOTE*: Replace Leo4allv3 with the name of your install dvd and replace MacHD with the name of your hard drive volume.

Step Four
Now we need to set the permissions for those kexts we copied
chown -R root:wheel /Volumes/MacHD/System/Library/Extensions/*ATA*
chmod -R 755 /Volumes/MacHD/System/Library/Extensions/*ATA*

NOTE*: Replace MacHD with the name of your hard drive volume.

Step Five
To remove the kextcache execute the following:
rm -rf /Volumes/MacHD/System/Library/Extensions.*

Note* Replace MacHD with the name of your drive volume.

Step Six
You may now restart your computer. I would suggest pressing F8 while booting and then entering -f as a boot option to force reloading of the kexts.//

Hi Eddie,

Tried injecting kext from Leo4Allv3 Extensions.mkext and Leo4All Extensions.mkext but wireless doesnt seem to be connecting to any networks.

I injected following:
AppleAirport.kext
IONetworking.kext
IO8011Family.kext

Can you or someone direct me or tell me what to do…?

Thanks in advance.
