Thank you for this help

It did the trick - its up and running — now to see what works…

Edit: I re-installed with the customize option and now my sound works (AC97) - I had to install a wireless driver for my intel pro 2200bg. Ethernet Broadcom 57xx not supported. Works fine with sound and internet. Only complaint is I don't know how to get accelerated graphics up for my ATI x600 Mobility.

Mule

Computer - Gateway M460
Ram: 2GB
CPU: Intel Pentium M - 1.86 GHz
Bios: Phoenix NoteBIOS 4.0 Release 6.1
Chipset: Intel 915
Video: ATI Mobility Radeon x600
Audio: Conexant CX20468-31 AC97 Audio
NIC: Broadcom Gigabit Ethernet
WNIC: Intel Pro/Wireless 2200BG
HDD: 80 GB - IDE ATA - Intel 82801FB/FBM Ultra ATA

http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1119

This worked for me.

//These are instructions on how you might be able to fix the OSX86 "Still Waiting for Root Device" error.

These instructions may not work for you; however, I am publishing this method since the solution may save someone hours of frustration. This fix was confirmed working for someone who had successfully installed leo4all v3 and upon reboot received the above error. In this case the cause of the error is due to incompatible or incorrect kexts for your ATA controller.

Step One
Boot up using the LeoV3 DVD as if you are going to install Mac OS X again.

Step Two
Select Terminal from the Installer's Utility Menu.

Step Three
Now we are going to copy all the the ATA kexts from the install DVD to your hard drive. To do this enter a command like this:
cp -pr /Volumes/Leo4allv3/System/Library/Extensions/*ATA* /Volumes/MacHD/System/Library/Extensions/.

NOTE*: Replace Leo4allv3 with the name of your install dvd and replace MacHD with the name of your hard drive volume.

Step Four
Now we need to set the permissions for those kexts we copied
chown -R root:wheel /Volumes/MacHD/System/Library/Extensions/*ATA*
chmod -R 755 /Volumes/MacHD/System/Library/Extensions/*ATA*

NOTE*: Replace MacHD with the name of your hard drive volume.

Step Five
To remove the kextcache execute the following:
rm -rf /Volumes/MacHD/System/Library/Extensions.*

Note* Replace MacHD with the name of your drive volume.

Step Six
You may now restart your computer. I would suggest pressing F8 while booting and then entering -f as a boot option to force reloading of the kexts.//

you should disable raid setting in bios so that your sata hdd will use native ide interface. also make sure there's only one harddisk connected(ide hdd) during installation(or you can disable it on bios(for sata hdd)).i had the same problem but the 'waiting for root device' error will solve once you install with only one hdd.if you had any ps2 device connected also remove it.at some point it will hang if you don't use usb input device.if your ide dvd connected with other ide hdd, please remove it also, make sure one ide cable for one device.after succesfull installation, u can plug everything again with no problem.hope this help.good luck

Me too…I used to install successfully with leo4allv2, but not v3.
The existence of AppleGenericPCATA.kext caused it to fail.
However when I hacked the ISO to forcing not using AppleGenericPCATA.kext and boot with -f -v, it failed to enter GUI (Just the screen not displaying, the keyboard still acts as the welcome screen is here.

Hi Eddie, first of all, i must thank you for your hard work to get this working. I`m running leo4allv3 in a dell optiplex 210L with almost everything working (no QE/CI). I have a problem on my other rig:
- x2 3800+,
- mobo Asus M2N-E (chipset nforce 570 ultra)
- 1Gb DDR2 800
- 2x 160Gb Sata, 1x 80Gb Sata (leo goes in this drive)
- Ati Radeon X850XT PCIE, IDE DVD writer)

I´ve tried installing with both MeDevil´s drivers, but I'm getting the same "Still waiting for root device" error, even when i try to force it with the "rd=disk3S1" parameter, or booting in safe mode.

You know if still are reported caveats on this driver? Or i'm doing something wrong?

Thanx in Advance, Greetz from Argentina!!!
